Welcome to the new Vinylution website! As a relatively new company (established 2017), Vinylution draws on its expert team who collectively share decades of experience in the PVC compounds and related industries. Our three Directors, Tim Hammond, David Carr and Nino Mann, share, in their own words, an introduction of themselves.

Nino Mann, Business Development Director

I have been involved with the PVC business since 1980, focusing primarily on the additives side. Experience includes technical, marketing, commercial and business strategy / leadership, developing a UK based additives business from practically nothing to a being a market leader. A complete understanding of how PVC and the rest of the formulation, coupled with the diverse range of processing characteristics and end-product characteristics, function together are a given.

I am based in Manchester with my family. Children have grown up and I decided to retire at the end of 2019. I believe in living life to the full and enjoy a wide range of interests and passions as well as the family including photography, music, motorcycling, travelling, and making things. Vinylution offers a nice challenge at a more intimate scale, allowing me also to enjoy the rapport and contact with so many people within the PVC community that I have built up over the years. I believe after so many changes and consolidations that have taken place within the PVC compounding world, Vinylution is a refreshing change.

Dave Carr, Technical Director

I have over 40 years’ experience in PVC compounding in the UK and Europe, specifically in the pigment, masterbatch and recycling industries. Functional roles during this time included, Senior Colourist, Production Management, Technical and Laboratory Management, Legal and Regulatory compliance with respect to Safety, Health, Environment and REACH. I have implemented projects in research and design, ISO quality, Environmental and Health and Safety systems. LEAN manufacturing, zero waste to landfill, energy saving, IT infrastructure and undertaken factory decommissioning of a large compounding facility, working with Government Agencies.

I live in a small village in Wiltshire with my wife, where we brought up two children, both now over 18 and making their own way in the world. In 2019, I built an office complex for me and my wife to work from and a workshop for my motorcycles. Initially, from 2016, running a PVC consultancy until together with John and Tim Hammond and later with Nino Mann we started Vinylution. Having worked for Doeflex for 20 years and believing it brought to the UK PVC compound market a set of ideals, and an honest, customer focused, way of doing business as an independent. I am sincere in my belief that the UK PVC market sorely misses this way of doing business, especially now, since the demise of our larger independent UK compound businesses. Hence Vinylution. Because of the combined knowledge and expertise within the business we have created a one stop shop for PVC compound materials, dry blends and information to help with your own projects.

Tim Hammond, Commercial Director

I represent the ‘youth side’ of the business ????. Based in Alsager, Cheshire, initially studying for a career outside PVC, I gradually became more involved with my father’s business, Northern Polymers, dealing with Recycled PVC and related thermo-plastics, and subsequently became a partner in the business. We have taken the business forward to the point that we were able to invest in the storage and support facility in Crewe. The use and treatment of recyclate is a key part of the PVC value chain which will only grow in importance going forwards.

With the Vinylution PVC compounds business I feel we can bring the intimate family company approach that we have used for Northern Polymers, coupled with the high level of experience our combined team brings, and project that into the PVC compound market.
